1.) Reflect
Review your year. There is tremendous power in reflection. Did you set goals in 2017? How many did you achieve? What were the challenges you faced? What were your successes? Were there any setbacks or obstacles? Were there times when you were disappointed and wanted to give up? What are your best memories? Did you find time to enjoy life?
2.) Learn
With reflection done, it’s time to extract the lessons. What will you avoid doing in 2018? Will you set goals? How will you improve in the areas you didn’t do as well as you wanted to? How did you overcome challenges? What steps can you take to motivate yourself when you feel disappointed?
3.) Identify
What went well? What are the best practices that you can carry into 2018? How can you ensure you find time for fun? What actions gave you the most joy? What were you most passionate about? How can you continue doing what you love? How can you positively impact others?
4.) Celebrate
Pat yourself on the back for your successes! It’s been a long year! There have been times when you wanted to throw the towel in but you made it. Yes it wasn’t easy and you had to travel some difficult roads. This is the reason you should celebrate how far you’ve come. Find something to celebrate. Now celebrate those moments. Cheers to you!
5.) Look Forward
There is so much of life ahead. Don’t get stuck in the past instead use the past to make the future better. You have the opportunity to decide what your future will be like. Our lives are the result of our decisions. Chose to make decisions that will allow you to live the life you desire.
I am rooting for your success. Look at that! You have a personal cheerleader who can support you on your life’s journey. You don’t have to go at it alone. Doesn’t that already make you feel as if 2018 can definitely be your best year ever? I’m already at work motivating and inspiring you to live your dreams. Here’s the link to Living Your Dream.
